Lucy Pendleton in City AM
Here are some of the "Live to Give" activities the James Pendleton team have taken part in to raise money for some incredible charities.
This October our Live to Give team have organised a night of spooktacular entertainment in aid of the Haven.
We are supporting The Haven Breast Cancer Support Center in Fulham which is an amazing organisation that not only supports those that have been diagnosed with breast cancer but also their family and friends. We are hoping to raise a big sum of money so that they can continue to offer this support system to the thousands of people that need them.
The event will see DJ Jack the Lad blast out Halloween classics in our ghoulishly decorated location, The Alma in Wandsworth. Not only that but through the exceptionally generous donations of local businesses and friends we have an incredible auction where you can bid for golfing events, a Kindle, clothing vouchers and dinner dates! There will also be a raffle and prizes for the best (or even worst) fancy dress!
If you would like to join us on the night then please ring us on 020 7501 1044 to secure your ticket. Tickets are £10 and all proceeds will go to The Haven.
This October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it was important to our Live To Give team that we contributed our support to this astonishing charity who offer support and care to families affected by cancer all over the UK. So on a rather dreary October day, the James Pendleton team came to work resplendent in various shades of rose, fuchsia and hot pink to show their support.
However the undisputed star of the show was Kitty the dog, who as it happens, looks great in baby pink knitwear!
There was a £1 donation for those who wore pink, and for those who didn't there was a £2 forfeit! We managed to raise £98.30 which will all go towards Beast Cancer Care.
The James Pendleton team were invited to attend the Agents Giving Ball 2015 in the Marriott Hotel, London. Estate Agents from all over the nation attend the ball as it offers a unique platform on which they can celebrate their fundraising successes from the past year and generate new and exciting ways in which to contribute to their chosen charities in the coming months.
Patron Phil Spencer led an energetic auction which saw tables competing against each other to secure donated football tickets, artwork and even holidays! There was a particularly frantic bidding session over the VIP tickets to see One Direction at the O2 Arena which was eventually won by James Pendleton! This not only raised a huge amount of money for a wide scope of charities but made several ladies in our office exceptionally happy...
It was a great night of dancing and fundraising which was thoroughly enjoyed by all, the 1D tickets especially.
In April we proudly sponsored the Abbotswood Road Street Fair in SW16, which was held to raise funds for The Haven charity.
Local businesses lined the street with stalls bursting with jewellery, food and drinks and there were special performances from Gemstones Gymnastics, Funky Moves Street Dancing and music by Six Fold to keep the crowds entertained. On top of the great entertainment on offer the event brought together the local and wider community in order to raise awareness of The Haven and the invaluable work they carry out for those affected by breast cancer.
We also ran a hugely successful competition in which participants had to guess the number of balloons that filled three of our branded VW Polo cars! Our Founding Director, Lucy Pendleton was delighted to present the winner with the £500 cash prize for their correct guess of 195 balloons.
Local generosity and community spirit meant that Lucy could present a cheque for £1000 to The Haven, which was a fantastic result.
On the 7th May 2015 the competitive spirit of the James Pendleton team was riding high as we traveled to Buckmore Park Karting Circuit in Kent to support School Aid 4 Africa, a charity that works tirelessly to restore children's dignity by rehabilitating schools and initiating self-sustaining projects in many parts of Africa.
We were invited to compete against 26 other teams in a 6 hour endurance race that would not only raise funds but would pit the ladies against the gents!
After testing their nerves on the practice laps our ladies team, Pendleton's Peddlers, were ready to take on the gents. The James Pendleton Legends were joined by Nicholas Cowell but it wasn't enough, after a furious 6 hours of dramatic fuel stops and burning rubber Pendleton's Peddlers were victorious and placed first out of all the ladies teams!
A fantastic day of karting was had by all and the total fundraised during the event was over £8500. A fantastic achievement.
