We love this business. So now it’s time to take this to the next level, and share some of our success, passion and sense of fun for the benefit of those less fortunate than ourselves.
We are therefore announcing our involvement in an extensive charity initiative that will not only raise desperately needed funds, but will also be a lot of fun and also help drive awareness of the James Pendleton approach to the area, the community and our industry.
This is not just a one-off marathon attempt, but a strategic and structured initiative that will require not only our involvement but our commitment right through 2010. The ultimate objective, aside from having a ball (not an actual ball, but a laugh) is to raise £25,000 by the end of the year, shared equally across the following four charities.
1. Trinity Hospice www.trinityhospice.org.uk ,a local hospice on Clapham Common Northside, which provides specialist end-of-life care to more than 2,000 local people.
2. Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity www.rainbowtrust.org.uk which provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
3. Adventure Ashram www.adventureashram.org helps people in India achieve a higher standard of living through better health and education, with monies raised matched by funding from the Indian government and businesses.
4. Unicef www.unicef.org.uk provides healthcare, education, equal opportunities and protection from abuse, violence and exploitation in some of the world’s harshest areas.
We have lined up a number of events as follows:
- JP Christmas party raffle
- London to Brighton Bike Ride
- Art Launch at Brassiere James in Clapham South
- Easter treasure hunt
- JP summer party
- Team Triathlon
- A charity Pool tournament
and others throughout the year!
We would love you to be involved somehow, either on a large or small scale, although please do not feel pressurised in any way – the emphasis is on having fun as a team with a cause!
If there are any charitable events you would like to undertake under the James Pendleton name please do let me know, and get involved. I for one have already bitten the bullet and will be taking part in an 8 day Africa motorbike challenge in October and a 10 day India driving challenge in November.
We are now officially rolling and can confirm James Pendleton has began the fund with a commitment of £1000, - so just £24,000 to go!
We can also advise our clients that £100 the fees received from every instruction received before the end of February will also be donated to the fund.
Let’s have some fun and make a difference in 2010!
